Pain affects as many as 9 in 10 of the people in the United States. Chronic pain persists for weeks, months, or years, and its source can sometimes be a mystery. The cause can be a long since healed injury, but it may also be a degenerative condition, persistent inflammation, or high levels of toxicity in the tissues. A growing body of research suggests that what we eat has a profound effect on how we feel.

Deficiencies of vitamin D, and B12, an imbalance in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and toxins produced by yeast over-growth either impair the healing process, or produce inflammation. For each of these issues, I’ll talk about why the deficiency exists and what to do about it, focusing on dietary changes, but also giving suggestions for how to supplement vitamins and essential fatty acids.
